Nottingham Forest have signed Chelsea right-back Todd Kane on loan until the end of the season.

The 21-year-old was on loan with League One side Bristol City and was set to stay until 18 January.

But Kane, who has yet to play a first-team game for the Blues, only started three games while with City and was recalled by the Premier League leaders.

Reds boss Stuart Pearce told BBC Radio Nottingham: "It's important. Todd gives us another option at full-back."

Forest have loaned Kane's fellow full-back Dan Harding to Millwall, while Crystal Palace defender Jack Hunt's loan stint at the City Ground finished at the end of December.

Pearce added: "We are really pleased. Right-back is his natural position and will be the one we look to play him in."

Kane has also spent time on loan with Preston North End and Blackburn Rovers.
