Rotherham United 1-2 Norwich City
- Published
Striker Ricky Van Wolfswinkel scored on his Norwich return as they overcame Rotherham to seal their place in the Capital One Cup third round.
The visitors took the lead when Jonny Howson fired the ball past Millers keeper Adam Collin from long range.
Van Wolfswinkel doubled Norwich's lead after the break when he latched on to Andre Wisdom's cross and tapped home.
Paul Green pulled a goal back for the hosts to set up a tense finish but Norwich held on to go through.
Van Wolfswinkel is the Canaries' record signing but had scored just once for the club since a £8.5 move from Sporting Lisbon in 2013 before his goal at the New York Stadium.
Norwich striker Lewis Grabban reportedly missed the game after leaving the club hotel before kick-off.
