A bit like losing contestants being shown what they could have won in a game show, the riches on offer to those teams entering the Champions League group stage were detailed by BBC Scotland reporter Alasdair Lamont earlier today. Al estimates Celtic will make about £8m in the Europa League, some way short of the £21m or so they would have earned in Uefa's top club tournament.

Celtic should have been good enough to see out that first leg but they were undone by their own inadequacies. They are out and it's a very, very disappointing night for this club."
