Port Vale have signed Leicester City midfielder Jak McCourt from his home town club on a one-month loan deal.

The 20-year-old, yet to appear for the Foxes first team, made his Football League debut on loan at Torquay United in 2013-14, making 12 appearances.

He could feature for Vale in Saturday's League One trip to Bradford City.

Meanwhile, Vale youngsters Jonathon Kapend and Chekaine Steele have both gone out on month-long loans to local non-league clubs.

Kapend has joined Stafford Rangers, while fellow first year professional Steele has joined Buxton, both in deals which are due to expire on Saturday, 26 September.

"I've stressed how important it can be for young players to experience men's football and that's exactly what these two need," Vale boss Rob Page said.
