AFC Wimbledon 1-1 Northampton Town

Northampton and AFC Wimbledon shared the spoils in a game that petered out after a bright opening.

The visitors were second best early on and fell behind when Zander Diamond's mistake allowed Adebayo Azeez to net.

After a series of corners, the Cobblers were back level when David Buchanan's cross was met by John-Joe O'Toole.

Wimbledon went closest to finding a winner as Azeez missed a volley from close range and Adam Smith kept out debutant Semi Ajayi's bullet header.

Northampton drop two places in the League Two table to 10th, while Wimbledon fall one place to 16th.

AFC Wimbledon boss Neal Ardley told BBC London 94.9:

"I don't want to sound like a record player because fans are going to read what I say or listen to what I say and say we've heard it all before.

"We try, we work hard, we try and be attacking, try and get at teams, we've had 17 attempts at goal they've had four.

"We just have to dust ourselves down, I've said that again, and try and put a good level of performance in, but we have got to stop giving away silly goals."
