Sheffield Eagles ended a run of four straight defeats by beating Wakefield in their final match of The Qualifiers.
Scott Turner put Eagles ahead as he touched down Quentin Laulu-Togagae's kick through, before Cory Aston added a try to extend the lead.
Danny Kirmond and Ben Kavanagh went over for Wildcats, but Menzie Yere crossed to make it 16-10 at the break.
Wakefield struggled to create chances in the second half, before Laulu-Togagae's try sealed the win late on.
The Wildcats finished fourth in The Qualifiers despite ending with a loss, and will host Bradford Bulls in the Million Pound Game on 3 October, with the winner playing in Super League next season.
Sheffield's second win of the Super 8s phase lifted them off the foot of The Qualifiers table, but the Eagles will face another season in the Championship in 2016.
