Cornish Pirates fly-half Jonny Bentley may return to the side in time for Saturday's trip to London Welsh.

Bentley suffered an abductor problem during the Pirates 20-16 win at Plymouth Albion while making his comeback from a previous injury.

"He trained pretty much the whole week last week, and has put himself back in contention," Pirates boss Chris Stirling told BBC Radio Cornwall.

Bentley played 28 matches for Pirates last season, scoring five tries.

"We're not going to pressure him," Stirling added.

"If he comes through and he's fatigued at the end of the week we're not going to risk him."
