Six Nations: Wales duo Samson Lee & George North miss Scotland

Wales prop Samson Lee misses Sunday's Six Nations trip to Scotland after failing to recover from the concussion he suffered last week against England.

Ospreys' Aaron Jarvis, 28, will replace Lee at tight-head with Cardiff's Scott Andrews coming on to the bench.

Winger George North is also out, having an "extended recovery period", after receiving two blows to the head in the 21-16 defeat by England in Cardiff.

Liam Williams replaces North and fellow Scarlet Scott Williams is on the bench.

Northampton back North had two blows to the head during Friday's loss to England, but Wales said he had no signs of concussion.

However, because he was concussed in November's 34-16 defeat by New Zealand, Wales coach Warren Gatland said the decision not to play North was "about him being a young man and needing to be looked after".

Lee, 22, was concussed during the game at the Millennium Stadium but had been included in the starting XV, subject to him successfully passing the sport's return-to-play protocol.

However, he failed to complete the final component of the test and misses out on the chance to win an 11th cap.

Aside from the two changes, Gatland has given the players who faced England a chance to redeem themselves.

"The response from the players has been very positive in training this week and we are looking forward to having the opportunity to right last weekend's wrongs," he said.

"Scotland started the tournament well against France, building on their autumn campaign and they will be looking forward to welcoming us to Edinburgh this weekend. We know what we need to do and we hope our performance can reflect that."

Scotland have made two changes to their starting line-up following their opening defeat by France with Sean Lamont replacing injured Tommy Seymour on the wing.

Tight-head prop Geoff Cross comes in for Euan Murray, who does not play on Sundays for religious reasons.

Wales have not lost to Scotland since 2007 and hammered them 51-3 in Cardiff last year after Scotland full-back Stuart Hogg was sent off in the 22nd minute.

That gave Wales a record seventh consecutive win against the Scots, who are coached by New Zealander Vern Cotter.
