    Dillon GabrielImage source, Reuters

Cleveland Browns quarterback Dillon Gabriel speaking after his first NFL start, a 21-17 defeat against Minnesota Vikings:

"I think I learned little details. Definitely was ready for that. But all the details come down to it.

"And I think in any game you're going to want four to five plays back. Of course, the result will feel different, and maybe your four to five plays may feel different.

"But that's the game we live and play in. Got to be better in those four to five plays is what and why you continue to work as hard as you do.

"This is a team deal. It isn’t on one person. It isn’t on everybody. But the truth is the result was the result and we've got to find a way to change that."

  17. Browns 'need to do better job at closing out' - Stefanskipublished at 19:44 BST 5 October

FT: Minnesota Vikings 21-17 Cleveland Browns

Cleveland Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski spoke after the Browns' defeat to Minnesota Vikings:

"Obviously extremely disappointed to not come away with the win there. We need to do a better job closing out. That's an offensive thing, defense, special teams, coaches, players, you name it.

"We've got to come away and be at our best in those moments, and we were not. And that's the disappointing, frustrating part for me. But we'll keep grinding. We'll get back and get back to work. That's what we've got to do.

"Obviously you give credit to the Vikings, give credit where credit is due. They won the game. We're disappointed that we didn't do the things necessary to win that game, but you've got to give them credit."

  18. Vikings leave it late but stay perfect in Londonpublished at 19:43 BST 5 October

TJ Hockensen runs to celebrate with Jordan Addison after Addison scores the match-winning touchdown for Minnesota Vikings against Cleveland BrownsImage source, Reuters

With Cleveland Browns leading 17-14 with half a minute remaining on the clock, a result was on the card that London has not yet seen - a Minnesota Vikings defeat.

The Vikings came into the game boasting an impressive 4-0 winning streak across three different stadiums in the English capital.

Having beaten Pittsburgh Steelers at Wembley in 2013 [34-27], the Browns at Twickenham in 2017 [23-17] and New Orleans Saints at Tottenham Hotspur in 2022 [28-25] and New York Jets at the same venue last year [23-17], this looked like the day the 13-year winning run could come to an end.

But veteran quarterback Carson Wentz saved his best play for last to pick out Jordan Addison in the end zone after accelerating his team up the pitch with time ticking down to preserve their record for another year, having been beaten by the Steelers in Dublin last weekend.
