    Men's long jump final

    Jazmin Sawyers
European indoor long jump champion on BBC iPlayer

It’s about Simon Ehammer, Miltiadis Tentoglou and Mattia Furlani. I am sure Jacob Fincham-Dukes doesn’t want to be left out of that.

However, the sort of distances those three men have jumped and in recent days, do have them standing out as the top three.

While the high jump continues, we will have the semi-finals in the women's 100m hurdles.

This features European leader Ditaji Kambundji of Switzerland, and also Klaudia Wojtunik of Poland - who you may remember had to run on her own yesterday evening, after being wrongly disqualified for a false start in the morning.

She set a qualification time, and is here with company tonight.

  4. Triple-double for Ingebrigtsen?published at 19:13 British Summer Time 8 June

    Men's 5000m final (21:28 BST)

Few men have dominated a sport like Jakob Ingebrigtsen and middle distance running. The Norwegian is Olympic champion at 1500m - and in recent Europeans has ruled that event, and the 5000m, with an iron fist.

After winning 1500m and 5000m gold at the last two Europeans - Berlin 2018 and Munich 2022 - Ingebrigtsen is aiming for another double in Rome.

He will be looking to complete the first chapter tonight, when he starts as favourite in the men's 5000m.

Now, Italian Jacobs will hope to take another positive step as he prepares to defend his title after running a season's best 10.03 in late May.

After getting a bye through the heats, he will begin his bid for glory on home soil in the 100m semis from 20:10 BST.

As far as British javelin throwers competing in the heptathlon go, Jade O’Dowda is one of the best.

It was never the strongest event for Jessica Ennis-Hill or Katarina Johnson-Thompson at present, even though KJT had that PB in Budapest.

Adrian Ben, the favourite for that semi, ended up fourth. A little disappointing, but he will go through to the final as a fastest non-top three finisher.

Gabriel Tual of France won the second semi, and looked good in doing so.

There is British interest in the second semi-final as well. Thomas Randolph will aim to reach the final. He's ranked 23rd in Europe so it's a long shot, but you never know.

    He is looking very adept.
