Dame Sarah Storey on why Podium Ambition are going pro

Dame Sarah Storey has been explaining why her Podium Ambition road cycling team will turn professional in 2016.

"The Women's World Tour was announced at the end of last week, and that means we wouldn't be able to access [half of] that programme unless we were a professional team.

"We've had an incredible first two years, we've been dominant within the UK and now it's time to take that team into the professional ranks."

Storey, 37, is Britain's most successful female Paralympian with 11 gold medals and she told the Victoria Derbyshire programme what had driven her success and how she was inspiring others: "For me sport is just everything... hopefully the team will motivate even more women to get involved."
