FA chairman David Bernstein says the acceptance of Fabio Capello's resignation as England coach was "the right decision for the FA", and confirms Under 21 team Stuart Pearce will manage the senior side for the friendly against Holland at Wembley.

Bernstein says his meeting with Capello on Wednesday was "amicable and professional", concluded with a handshake, and says the Italian did not "storm out".
