Chelsea pre-match handshakes not my decision - Hughes

Mark Hughes reveals his QPR players will "respect" the Premier League's mandatory pre-match handshakes ahead of their game with Chelsea, if the club are told the handshakes "need to happen".

Hughes admits he has discussed the issue with his squad, with defender Anton Ferdinand having indicated he will not shake hands with Chelsea defenders John Terry or Ashley Cole, after Chelsea captain Terry was acquitted of racially abusing Ferdinand in last year's corresponding match.

Although Terry was cleared in court, the former England captain still faces a separate FA charge - which he denies - over the Ferdinand incident. That hearing is expected to begin on 24 September.
