John Terry retirement 'surprises' former boss Avram Grant
Former Chelsea boss Avram Grant tells 5 live Drive he is "surprised" that Chelsea centre-half John Terry has chosen to retire from international football as the Football Association begin Terry's disciplinary hearing.
The 31-year old is accused of "using abusive and/or insulting words and/or behaviour" towards Anton Ferdinand during Chelsea's game at QPR last season. Terry has already been cleared at a high-profile court case at Westminster Magistrates' Court but the FA decided to hold its own inquiry.
Grant is adamant that Terry "is not racist" and says he does not think the FA should have charged him.
