Manchester United 2-0 Everton: Sir Alex Ferguson on 'good weekend'

Sir Alex Ferguson says it's been a "good weekend" for his team after Manchester City lost to Southampton and United defeated Everton 2-0.

Ferguson said that City's defeat gave his team a lift and because of that loss he decided to make changes to his original team that would face Everton, in order that they could achieve a "fantastic lead in the league".

The Red Devils now lead the Premier League by 12 points after Ryan Giggs and Robin van Persie both scored - Giggs scoring for the 23rd successive top-flight season.
