Wayne Rooney's Man Utd future not up to me - Sir Alex Ferguson

Outgoing Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson confirms the club have rejected a transfer request from Wayne Rooney, and says he will not decide the striker's future.

Ferguson, who left Rooney out of his squad for the 2-1 win over Swansea, said the 27-year-old should "go away and think it over again" ahead of David Moyes's arrival as the new United manager.

Rooney previously asked to leave Old Trafford in October 2010, external and was linked with a move to Manchester City, but changed his mind and instead signed a new contract with Ferguson's team.
