England v Ireland: Cole a fantastic servant - Hodgson
England manager Roy Hodgson describes Ashley Cole as "a fantastic servant" whilst announcing that the left-back will captain his country against the Republic of Ireland at Wembley on Wednesday.
Cole is being given the honour as a reward for becoming only the seventh Englishman to collect a century of caps, a landmark reached in February against Brazil.
Hodgson says it is a "great opportunity" for the two nations' fans to unite after the last meeting between the two sides was abandoned in 1995 because of violence in the stands.
