BBC African footballer of the year nominee 2013: Yaya Toure
Yaya Toure has been nominated for the BBC's African Footballer of the Year award 2013.
Toure is widely recognised as one of the finest midfielders of his generation. He is a general on the pitch who commands respect from every quarter. He joined his current club Manchester City in 2010 and helped them win the English Premier League in 2012 - their first league title for 44 years - as well as the FA Cup and the Community Shield.
Fellow nominees include Victor Moses, Jonathan Pitroipa, Jon Obi Mikel and Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang. The winner will be announced during a live edition of Focus on Africa on BBC World Service and BBC World News at 17:35 GMT on 2 December, 2013.
