Shrewsbury Town v Chelsea: Drinks all round before cup game

Shrewsbury Town manager Micky Mellon and his players were the toast of the Greenhous Meadow as they served up hot drinks to warm fans after tickets for this month's League Cup fourth round tie with Premier League leaders Chelsea on Monday morning.

Town fans were at the front of the queue from the early hours (as early as 03:00 BST) as the League Two club's 2,000 remaining tickets went on general sale.

Jose Mourinho's side will make their first visit to the new Meadow on 28 October at 19:45 GMT. Then under Claudio Ranieri, they also played Shrewsbury in the fourth round of the FA Cup in January 2003, winning 4-0 at Gay Meadow, from which ex-England skipper John Terry is the only survivor. Chelsea also made six visits to the old Meadow in their old Division Two days in the 1980s, winning just one of them.
