Manchester United's Louis van Gaal on Pedro

Manager Louis van Gaal says that "what is in the papers is not true" regarding Manchester United's failure to sign Pedro from Barcelona.

After the Spanish international signed instead for rivals Chelsea, the Dutchman insists he "never had said" that the £21m forward was coming to Old Trafford.

Van Gaal accuses the press of trying "to separate (vice-chairman) Ed Woodward" and the head coach, which would "never" happen because of the "trust" between the two.
