NI pair lose out in Friday fourballs

Northern Ireland pair Rory McIlroy and Graeme McDowell lost out to Phil Mickelson and Keegan Bradley in their fourball match at the Ryder Cup at Medinah on Friday.

McDowell told BBC Sport NI that he had "found it difficult to refocus" after their earlier foursomes victory over Brandt Snedeker and Jim Furyk.

"We have some work to do on day two," admitted McDowell as Europe trailed the United States 5-3 after the first day of play.
