Belly putter: Royal & Ancient boss explains rule change

Royal & Ancient chief executive Peter Dawson explains how the proposed rule change around belly putters will affect top golfers including Adam Scott and Keegan Bradley.

The change, scheduled for January 2016, would see the end of anchoring any strokes to a pivot point, such as the chest or midriff, but not the clubs themselves.

Dawson believes the technique is "not a golf stroke" and hopes the professionals affected will respect the decision and change to a shorter putter.
