US PGA: Rory McIlroy ready for title defence at Whistling Straits
World number one Rory McIlroy says he has recovered from injury and is ready to defend his title at the US PGA Championship, which starts on Thursday.
The 26-year-old from Northern Ireland suffered a "total rupture" of ligaments in his left ankle in July while playing football.
"The game feels good. I'm finding the middle of the clubface," said the world number one. who will be aiming for third victory in four years in the season's final major.
"I've been chipping and putting right the way through since I've been injured and the short game feels sharp."
