Royal Ascot 2011: Fantastic Frankel outsprints rivals

Frankel, trained by Sir Henry Cecil and ridden by Tom Queally, holds off a late challenge to finish three-quarters of a length clear in winning the St James's Palace Stakes, the feature race on the first day of Royal Ascot.

The three-year-old colt went off 3-10 favourite and came under pressure late on from Zoffany, who eventually finished second.

Excelebration just pipped the Frankie Dettori-ridden Neebras for third place.
