Colin Jackson backs GB Olympic doping policy

Olympic silver medallist and BBC commentator Colin Jackson supports the British Olympic Association (BOA) policy of lifetime bans for those who fail doping tests.

Jackson aired his opinion on the current doping policy before American sprinter LaShawn Merritt won his appeal, external, allowing him to compete at 2012.

The BOA operates a lifetime Olympic ban for those found guilty of doping offences but Merritt successfully argued that a similar International Olympic Association (IOC) rule went beyond World Anti-Doping Agency (Wada) sanctions of a maximum two-year ban.
