Novak Djokovic congratulates Andy Murray on first Grand Slam

Novak Djokovic congratulates Andy Murray on winning his first Grand Slam in the aftermath of his defeat in the US Open final.

The world number two believes his opponent "deserved to win this Grand Slam more than anybody" and is taking comfort in the fact that he "gave it all" to win after fighting back from two sets down to force a decider.

Murray defeated the Serbian 7-6 (12-10) 7-5 2-6 3-6 6-2 in four hours 54 minutes at the Arthur Ashe Stadium to take the first Grand Slam title of his career.
