    Bivol beats Zinad by stoppage

WBA light heavyweight champion Dmitry Bivol speaking to DAZN: "Of course I'm happy that I won. I won this fight great. My team are happy and I'm happy.

"We're professional boxers, we have to change our tactic at any moment and at any second in the ring and I had enough time to prepare.

"I believe that my power was with me every time, I didn't have doubts."

My dream team for a 5 v 5 would be: Naoya Inoue, Terence Crawford, Shakur Stevenson, Arthur Beterbiev, Hamzah Sheeraz. Not just great fighters but more importantly really competitive weight classes with loads of exciting match ups. Canelo hasn’t been in a competitive fight at super middleweight for years and I think Usyk has the heavyweights sewn up so the obvious picks for the W but not necessarily the best fights. I’d love to see Inoue up at Featherweight

Rival boxing promoters Frank Warren and Eddie Hearn

The rivalry between Frank Warren and Eddie Hearn runs deep, as you can see in the video above.

We've already seen the two promoters do a face-off in the ring tonight, I'm sure we'll be seeing plenty of them as the fights unfold.

  5. Undisputed contest in Octoberpublished at 23:50 British Summer Time 1 June

    Bivol beats Zinad by stoppage

Dmitry Bivol won 11 of his first 13 fights inside the distance but then went on a nine fight stretch of victories by decision.

This is his first stoppage since March 2018 to extend his unbeaten record to 23.

Bivol is being interviewed in the ring now and his quotes are on the way...

We're also hearing from Turki Alashikh, chairman of Saudi Arabia's general entertainment authority, who has just announced that the undisputed light heavyweight contest between Bivol and Artur Beterbiev will take place on 12 October.

    Bivol beats Zinad by stoppage

Bivol retains his WBA light-heavyweight title.

It looked like he was just taking his time in the early rounds and he gets it done in the sixth.

That was some lovely, sniper-like work to get the win.

Great combinations as he put his foot on the gas and forced the referee to step in.

Eddie Hearn and Frank Warren have picked their best five fighters for tonight's card to see who can come out with the bragging rights.

I want to hear who your fantasy boxing team would be.

A team of five that you feel would prevail and lead you to glory.

You've got the world of boxing at your disposal, but let's stick with active fighters and leave those who have retired well alone - that's the only stipulation here!

So you can pick from any weight class - maybe try to mix it up and not go for five heavyweights.

  8. Round fourpublished at 23:34 British Summer Time 1 June

    Bivol v Zinad

We've barely heard anything from the crowd all night but Bivol clearly has some support in the arena.

"Bivol, Bivol, Bivol" is the chant ringing around.

Despite being put down in the first round, Zinad is proving a good match for Bivol, working nicely behind the jab.

Bivol, in fairness, looks like he has more gears to go through.

There's a little bit of needle at the end of the round as the pair go head-to-head.

    This could be over quickly.

Dmitry Bivol has just put Malik Zinad down in the first round.

Zinad was up quickly and beats the count.

And in the pursuit of balance, it's only right that we have a look at team Matchroom too.

Steve Bunce managed to get some time with Matchroom boss Eddie Hearn and he also speaks with Craig Richards and Ray Ford.

New Zealand heavyweight Joseph Parker, who has beaten Deontay Wilder and Zhilei Zhang in his last two fights, also gives his view on the card, while legendary ring announcer Michael Buffer also makes an appearance.

    We've got a brief break from the 5 v 5 now.

Tonight's card was originally set to be headlined by an undisputed light-heavyweight contest between Artur Beterbiev and Dmitry Bivol.

Unfortunately, Beterbiev had to pull out last month with a knee injury.

Bivol is still on the card and defends his WBA belt against late replacement Malik Zinad.

They are up next before we head into the final two fights of the 5 v 5.

Ball beats Ford by split decision

Speaking of Nick Ball's victory over Raymond Ford to win the WBA featherweight title earlier...

The American has already been on social media, praising his opponent and confirming he is moving up to super-featherweight.

"Hope ya'll enjoyed the fight, props to Nick Ball nothing but respect. Gave it all I had today. Off to 130," Ford said on X.

That's a real shame because I'd love to see Ball and Ford fight again.

  16. 'Sheeraz delivered'published at 23:02 British Summer Time 1 June

    Sheeraz beats Williams by stoppage

Queensberry promoter Frank Warren, speaking to DAZN: "Long may it continue.

"It was an excellent performance. That's why he's the captain. It was a real good professional job.

"He's very difficult to hit, he's so rangy. He delivered."

On the 5 v 5: "The worse case it can be a draw now if we lose the next two fights by stoppage."

  17. 'If I'm not ready now I never will be'published at 23:00 British Summer Time 1 June

    Sheeraz beats Williams by stoppage

Hamzah Sheeraz speaking to DAZN: "I knew what I was going into, he's a puncher, fresh and young.

"I knew it wouldn't be a wipe-out victory. We thought we'd break him down in close. I used my jab but I had to slow him down.

"I was throwing the uppercut but the corner was saying right hook, right hook. I knew the pace I set, I don't normally set it but I had to in this one."

On whether he's ready for a world title shot: "If I'm not ready now I never will be."

  18. Queensberry lead 6-0published at 22:53 British Summer Time 1 June

    Sheeraz beats Williams by stoppage

Matchroom's hopes of winning tonight are over. Sheeraz's win by stoppage takes Queensberry's lead to 6-0, getting two points for the stoppage and another two for being team captain.

In the last two fights of the 5v5 event, Matchroom can only get a maximum of six points, but would require both Deontay WIlder and Filip Hrgovic to both win by stoppage to get those six points.

  19. Sheeraz wins by stoppagepublished at 22:49 British Summer Time 1 June

    Sheeraz beats Williams by stoppage

After getting that knockdown in the tenth, a brilliant combination from Sheeraz stops Williams and this one is over.

An excellent and deserved win from Sheeraz, who really dominated as that fight continued.

The referee called it after a brutal combination. Williams stayed on his feet, just, but it was clear his race was run.

  20. Round tenpublished at 22:48 British Summer Time 1 June

    Sheeraz v Williams

Williams is saved by the bell and survives, for now at least.

It was a big right hook from Sheeraz that dropped Williams with seconds remaining.

Like he started the ninth, Williams opened round ten with energy and a desire to land a number of body shots, getting a few on target but without really getting the better of Sheeraz.

When Sheeraz hits, the sound it makes is a reminder of what Williams is up against.

Sheeraz remains measured while Williams does not have such luxuries.
