Good evening from the M&S Bank Arena. There's nothing quite like boxing in the Liverpool – a city which loves the fight game.

Nick 'the Wrecking' Ball is the bulldozing pressure fighter who rarely takes a step back. You're almost guaranteed an entertaining scrap when the Kirby man is in action. With a potential match-up with Japanese superstar Naoya Inoue on the horizon, Ball can't afford a slip up.

But Ireland's scrappy southpaw TJ Doheny is a more than credible opponent. With 20 stoppages to his name, he has earned the nickname 'Power'. He lands a second consecutive world-title shot after losing to undisputed super-bantamweight champion Inoue in September.

Can he cause a huge shock against home fighter Ball? Or is Ball just levels above the veteran? Let's find out.

Just eight days on from Lauren Price's victory over Natasha Jonas to add the WBC and IBF welterweight titles to her WBA strap, we've got another Briton in world title action tonight.

Liverpool's Nick Ball makes the second defence of his WBA featherweight title against Ireland's TJ Doheny.

Ball has emerged from the wilderness and fighting on small hall cards just over two years ago to become a world champion and headline events in his home city.

The future looks bright for Ball but he needs to overcome a wily and experienced former world champion in Doheny to stay on track for some mouthwatering fights down the line.

Can Ball retain his title and extend his undefeated record? Or will 38-year-old Doheny spoil the party?
