I honestly didn't know what to expect from tonight's news conference - the track record of Chris Eubank Jr and Conor Benn at these events is varied.

American Brandon Glanton, who faces Chris Billam-Smith on the undercard, might have been the closest of all the fighters to crossing a line when insulted both his opponent and Cheavon Clarke.

Benn didn't seem to keen to engage with Eubank and appeared tired of the mind games.

We'll be back tomorrow for the weigh-in. Make sure you join us.

The relationship between Chris Eubank Jr and his father, Chris Eubank Sr, has deteriorated over recent years and the latter has stated he won't be attending the fight at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Eubank Jr said he has told his father that he wants him to be at the event and has told him how much it would mean.

Looks like we are going to be on Eubank Sr watch this weekend.

Noticed a lot of pearly whites during this news conference. Was hoping to add some from the main event fighters, but very little grins from them.

But plenty to go round. Anyone got a favourite?

  5. Is this a closer bout than we think?published at 20:10 British Summer Time

    Kal Sajad
BBC Sport at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium

From the moment this fight was first announced, Chris Eubank Jr has been the favourite. He’s the bigger and more experienced guy, having fought some world-level opponents. I think it’s fair to say that Conor Benn, meanwhile, had yet to really prove himself before the doping scandal.

But in fight week there seems to be a little shift in how people see this contest going. You hear whispers that Benn has been looking unbelievable in camp and has caused some former world champions real problems. It could all just be smoke and mirrors, but it’s certainly added a bit more intrigue.

  6. How to follow Eubank v Benn on the BBC?published at 20:05 British Summer Time

BBC Sport will bring you daily coverage from London in fight week and Steve Bunce will deliver daily episodes of his 5 Live Boxing with Steve Bunce podcast.

You can follow live text commentary of the undercard and all the build-up from 19:00 BST on Saturday.

  7. Chris Eubank Sr not expected at fight nightpublished at 20:03 British Summer Time

    Kal Sajad
BBC Sport at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium

In contrast to Nigel Benn’s involvement in the build-up to this fight, including speaking on stage this evening, Chris Eubank Sr has not been seen at all. There has been a very public fallout between father and son, with Eubank Sr calling this fight a “disgrace” because of the weight disparity. Conor Benn is coming up two weight divisions, whereas Chris Eubank Jr is not permitted to add more than 10lb after Friday’s weigh-in.

Eubank Jr said he hopes his father may still make an appearance on fight night, but it’s looking increasingly unlikely.

Got my ticket for Saturday night and as a boxing fan I say forget the pantomime that is the main event, the undercard is full of really good fights and good fighters. I hope people get there early enough to enjoy the whole card as that's where the 'proper' boxing is.

And that's all from the news conference.

Tense at times but pretty well behaved for Chris Eubank Jr and Conor Benn standards.

Now just the small matter of a face-off.

  13. Postpublished at 19:55 British Summer Time

    Eubank v Benn

Another bit of back-and-forth between Chris Eubank Jr and Eddie Hearn:

"I still want that £1m bet that Eddie Hearn said he wanted to do," Eubank says.

Hearn, who emerges from side of stage to lean over a microphone, responds: "Am I allowed to talk now?"

Eubank says: "Of course, get up here."

Hearn proceeds to talk about something else and Eubank steers him back off the stage.

  14. Postpublished at 19:52 British Summer Time

    Eubank v Benn

Conor Benn is asked about reports of Billy Joe Saunders being requested to inspected the wraps of Chris Eubank Jr on Saturday:

"Don't ruin the surprises," Benn says.

    "It's irrelevant," Eubank responds.

  15. 'Duty to boxing'published at 19:51 British Summer Time

    Eubank v Benn

More from Chris Eubank Jr, who said before their first fight was cancelled that he could win at 60%:

"We're not doing percentages now. That was before Conor got caught cheating. Now it's about preparing to get this kid out of boxing. We aren't taking him lightly. He should have taken the chance in that first fight when I was underestimating him, that was his best shot.

"Now I have a duty to boxing and to fans who he has lied to."

Conor Benn failed two drug tests in 2022, but has always denied intentionally doping and had his suspension lifted in November 2024.

  16. 'What is pain?'published at 19:49 British Summer Time

    Eubank v Benn

Conor Benn admits Chris Eubank Jr is funny before going on to tell him to focus on getting the weight off and vows to make him feel pain on Saturday.

"What is pain, though?", Eubank says.

"I have a 31-year-old brother who is buried in the desert in Dubai, that is pain. I have his son, three years old, he asks why can't I see my daddy? Why can't he take me to school? That is pain.

"My own father, a man I idolised for my entire life, and he doesn't speak to me. We haven't spoken for years and he thinks I'm a disgrace. These things are what pain is to me."

  17. 'You will be in detention'published at 19:45 British Summer Time

    Eubank v Benn

Conor Benn is asked for his response:

"There is no pressure. I've had the fight over 100 times in my head.

"I'm not going to lower myself to Chris and go back-and-forth. I'm excited to go back in there and put hands on him on Saturday. We're not at school now I don't need to call him names."

"You will be at school on Saturday. I'm going to be the headmaster and you will be in detention," Eubank jibes back.

  18. 'Benn had to flee'published at 19:43 British Summer Time

    Eubank v Benn

    Chris Eubank Jr:

"Conor speaks about pressure and dealing with it. There is a reason why he had his training camp in Spain... he had to flee.

"He couldn't handle the pressure of walking the UK streets and have people shouting out drug cheat and making egg jokes.

"He took himself away and thinks he can use me to get back into the good graces.

"I haven't hid, I've been on these streets, I've spoken with kids, I've done media obligations and have felt the energy on UK streets over the past two months."

  20. 'Prepared my whole life for these moments'published at 19:40 British Summer Time

    Eubank v Benn

    Now for the fighters.

    Chris Eubank Jr:

"I know what is coming. I prepared my whole life for these moments. I've put the time in, dedicated decades to this sport and have done it without cheating or cutting any corners.

"The mentality I have, the experience, fortitude and will is what I will use on the night to take out Conor Benn."
