Right, we are finally making some progress.

The undercard fighters are being announced on to the stage as I type.

Only 19 minutes later than billed - that's not too bad in the grand scheme of things.

This media-only event at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium is taking place in a state-of-the-art conference room overlooking the pitch.

At around 17:30 BST, we were told Conor Benn will be coming out to speak to some of the media. Dozens of cameras, mainly YouTubers, gathered and waited patiently in the corner.

He arrived around 40 minutes later, spoke for about five minutes and left.

This evening's news conference is set to be split into two sections, with the undercard taking to the stage before we get the two main protagonists - Chris Eubank Jr and Conor Benn - a little later.

We were hoping the first portion would begin around 18:00 BST but it appears we are a little delayed.

Hopefully not too much longer now until we get going.

We can't get too far into this live text without reference to where this all really began... the 1990 bout between Chris Eubank Sr and Nigel Benn.

Eubank stopped Benn in the ninth round to claim the WBO middleweight title in Birmingham, but that was only the beginning of their bitter feud.

The pair met again three years later at Manchester United's Old Trafford with both fighters holding world titles at super-middleweight.

A split draw meant they both went home with their respective belts.

Who would have thought their sons would be preparing to lace up the gloves to meet over 30 years later?

  6. Will there be another egg slap?published at 17:58 British Summer Time 24 April

I’m not quite sure what to expect today. Will Benn and Eubank be on their best behaviour? I don’t think we’ll have a repeat of February’s media conference. Well, there won’t be any egg slaps.

This close to the big day, the promoters or the fighters won’t want anything that may jeopardise the contest. And I don’t think Eubank – for all his riches – will fancy forking out another £100,000 on a fine.

We're just over 48 hours from finally seeing Chris Eubank Jr and Conor Benn inside a ring together.

Before we get to the main event, we've got two days of build-up to guide you through.

Tomorrow the pair hit the scales at the weigh-in, but tonight we focus on the final news conference.

We'll also be hearing from some of the other fighters on the card at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium - the likes of former WBO cruiserweight champion Chris Billam-Smith and long-term rivals Anthony Yarde and Lyndon Arthur.
