I'm going to misunderstand the assignment on purpose and name nearly-man Jimmy Young, who was a very good (and very awkward) heavyweight in the 1970s, he was on the unfortunate end of a questionable decisions against Muhammad Ali and Ken Norton. Just another one of boxing's many footnotes who deserved to be champion.

Has been, erm, quiet. Someone behind us in the press area started a ‘is this a library’ chant under his breath.

Another one’s asking if this is snooker…

Shoutout to the Brits who have travelled over though, they’re the ones making the odd shout for the fighters from their fellow country on this undercard.

  3. Cordina on the unification huntpublished at 19:55 British Summer Time 18 May

Welshman Joe Cordina will soon be in the ring and we'll be bringing you a round-by-round account of that fight. Lucky you!

Cordina is defending his IBF super-featherweight title against Belfast fighter Anthony Cacace in what could be his final fight in this weight division.

Now aged 32 and 17-0, Cordina is on the hunt for a unification fight but has been left frustrated in that pursuit so far.

He said on BBC Radio Wales Sport: "Cacace is a good fight - but it's not the fight people probably wanted or expected. But I am grateful to be in a position where I'll be on a massive show, one of the biggest in history.

"I was chasing the other title holders but it hasn't happened yet. The thing is for me, if I can't get a unification fight in my next fight, I will look to go up a weight.

"I am not getting any younger and the big money fights are at the weight above me. Cacace is a great fighter but if I beat him and don't get a unification fight… I don't want to just keep defending my title."

Will Cordina make it 18-0 tonight?

Itauma is going to be a very special fighter in this heavyweight division moving forward. 19 years old wow, still another 5 / 6 years of strength to grow into as well!

We're currently being spoilt for knockdowns. We've had three stoppages so far and Robin Sirwan Safar knocked down Sergey Kovalev on his way to a points win.

I'm sure once I post this, the stoppages will dry up...

  10. Fights that define Fury's careerpublished at 19:34 British Summer Time 18 May

Tyson Fury announced himself to the world in 2015 when he travelled to Germany to face Wladimir Klitschko.

The Ukrainian spent a large part of his career fighting in Germany and Fury was really stepping into the lion's den.

Undeterred by being the underdog and facing a hostile crowd, Fury fought without fear and put in a masterclass to earn a unanimous decision victory and the WBA, IBF and WBO titles - getting his first taste of being a world champion.

Klitschko's nine-year reign as champion was over and Fury was a household name.

So the card is already well under way, we've got three title fights lined up with the undisputed heavyweight contest set as the main event.

Joe Cordina's world title fight with Anthony Cacace is expected after 20:00 BST.

Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury are not expected to make their ringwalks before 23:00 with broadcasters expecting a 23:05 start time, but when do these things ever run to plan?

Cast your mind back to March when Anthony Joshua met Francis Ngannou in Riyadh... AJ didn't make his ringwalk until 00:24!

Let me channel my inner Craig David.

I arrived in Riyadh on Monday.

There was a relatively low-key affair with the fighters at the grand arrivals on Tuesday.

Usyk stared Fury down from afar at the open workouts on Wednesday.

We had a lowkey news conference on Thursday before a fiery weigh-in on Friday and fight night is on Saturday and…and... OK I’ve lost my rhythm.

I fully expect you to give a thumbs down to this post. I deserve it.

I remember watching the news and seeing a gigantic man dressed as Batman running through a press conference nearly nine years ago.

Not long after that, Tyson Fury shocked the world of boxing when he beat Wladimir Klitschko in his own back yard to take home the gold.

Great blast from the past Kal.

I think my first memory of Tyson Fury is from his first fight with Derek Chisora in 2011. It was the summer after I'd just left University.

    How about you Charlotte?

Almost 18 years ago, I connected to the dial-up modem in my family home and waited an age for the BBC website to load.

I came across this story about a young pup called Tyson Fury. He was the same age as me and the name – and story - grabbed my attention.

I followed his career closely ever since – it’s been some ride.

On a personal level, reporting on the undisputed heavyweight title fight is such a privilege. When that first bell rings, it really will be a pinch-me moment.

Whether you’re team Fury or team Usyk, we are all united by our love for boxing. We have has been crying out for this – one champion. Let’s enjoy it.
