I've got to be honest - it's quiet in the Kingdom Arena. Very quiet. It HAS to pick up for the main event. It would just be wholly inappropriate for a fight of this stature if it doesn't.

Always admired Jack Dempsey, who was also a favourite of Mike Tyson, just raw power, energy, and ferocity. They don't build fighters like Dempsey anymore.

I’m back in my seat in the press area and I’m next to boxing commentator Ronald McIntosh.

He is loving the combinations from Jai Opetaia! Shouts of ‘shot’ followed by some shadow boxing recreating the combo.

    Don’t worry he’s not caught me… yet.

For me the greatest of all time has to be Rocky Marciano, the guys in his era were just made differently.

  5. 'About being fit and strong'published at 22:15 British Summer Time 18 May

So, with Tyson Fury coming in at his lowest weight since September 2019 when he beat Otto Wallin, how has the WBC champion got into fighting shape?

BBC News journalist Steve Jones has been digging a little deeper to find out the secret behind Fury's weight loss.

Sheffield-based nutritionist Greg Marriott is the man responsible, having linked up with Fury seven months ago.

The pair have been inseparable ever since, with Marriott even joining the Furys on holiday and moving into their family home in Morecambe.

Speaking from a sun lounger at Fury's hotel in Riyadh, briefly paused the call to laugh and joke with the man himself, Marriott recalls being asked how he fancied "being part of history" over a FaceTime chat.

"He didn't look that good against [Francis] Ngannou, so I thought I needed to get to him as quick as possible," explains Marriott.

"He's never going to be body-beautiful - to get him looking body-beautiful it would take a year or two," he adds. "For this camp, it was about being fit and strong."

Usyk v Fury: World champions separated at weigh-in

We got a taster of what might be to come tonight when Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury met at the weigh-in yesterday.

It was almost like Fury, who had been reserved and calm all week, needed to let off a little steam as he burst on to the stage and then shoved Usyk in the chest before the pair were separated by security.

Fury came in at 18st 7lb (262lb) - his lightest in over four years - with Usyk weighing a career-heavy (16st) (224lb), although it was incorrectly announced as 16st 6lb at the weigh-in.

After the melee, the fired up Brit said: "I'm going to knock him right out,” Fury said, using a number of expletives.

"I'm coming for his heart. He's getting it tomorrow, spark out. They [his team] can all get it if they want it."

Asked what he said to provoke a reaction from Fury, Usyk said: “Don’t be afraid. I will not leave you alone tomorrow.”

The history of the heavyweight division is littered with legends but how many of them are in the argument for the greatest of all time?

Muhammad Ali, a three-time undisputed heavyweight champion, tends to be the first name thrown out there for his actions both inside and outside of the ring.

Rocky Marciano ended his career undefeated with 49 wins and was the undisputed heavyweight champion between 1952 to 1956. He also has victories over fellow undisputed champions Joe Louis and Ezzard Charles on his resume.

Speaking of Louis, he made a staggering 25 consecutive title defences!

More recently the likes of Mike Tyson, Lennox Lewis and Evander Holyfield could also be considered.

Where does Tyson Fury fit into the mix? Would a win tonight put him up there as the GOAT?

    Cacace beats Cordina by stoppage

It's a bitterly disappointing night for Joe Cordina but what heart he has shown.

It looked all over once Cordina hit the canvas in the third round but he someone hung on and survived until round eight.

The referee made the right decision in pulling him out of there as he was eating some huge shots and being rocked on numerous occasions.

    He'll be back.
