You have to give Whyte credit for taking it. He's getting well paid but there would have been other big-money fights out there for him.

But I think the timing is perfect. I've been singing Itauma's praises since he was an amateur. At this point in Whyte's career, Itauma is all wrong for him and I think it will be over in four rounds. It could be even earlier.

  2. 'I can switch just like that'published at 22:17 British Summer Time 16 August

    Itauma v Whyte

There has been plenty of respect between Moses Itauma and Dillian Whyte during the build-up to this fight but things started to bubble over after asking the 'Body Snatcher' if he's a sheep or a wolf.

"I'm a chilled guy until people mess about with me. With me, I don't need to bully or go crazy. I can switch just like that. So relax, bro, we're good. Me and him ain't got no beef. It's business," Whyte said.

Demsey McKean and Mike Balogun have both stood in front of Moses Itauma and both have been sent to the canvas.

Here are Itauma's punch stats from those fights. Not shy about throwing a power punch, is he?

I think it's going to be an interesting fight. I think Moses might be a bit too sharp for him. The combination punching and the angles might be a bit too much for Dillian.

  7. 'I have a lot left in the game'published at 22:14 British Summer Time 16 August

    Itauma v Whyte

Dillian Whyte, speaking to DAZN: "[This fight means] everything. My whole career has been must-win, this is a very must-win.

"I believe I have a lot left in the game and I'm not trying to prove myself."

  8. Whyte's inactivity a problempublished at 22:12 British Summer Time 16 August

    Itauma v Whyte

Dillian Whyte has won his last three fights since losing to Tyson Fury at Wembley Stadium but the main problem is those have come over the course of three years.

Will inactivity be Whyte's biggest downfall tonight?

Well done Ball on getting the win. Was a lot closer than the judges scorecards. Most rounds could have gone either way.

  10. 'Itauma is just too fresh'published at 22:10 British Summer Time 16 August

    Itauma v Whyte

    Darren Barker
Former world middleweight champion to BBC Sport

I think Itauma is just far too fresh, too skilful and too quick - and a man on a mission right now. Timing is all wrong for Whyte.

We'll see the youthfulness shine through. I think he'll be a step ahead in every department and gets the job done in the second half of the fight.

    Prediction - Itauma

  11. What do they weigh?published at 22:08 British Summer Time 16 August

    Itauma v Whyte

Dillian Whyte tipped the scales at 17st 6½lb (110.9kg), more than a stone lighter than his previous bout while Moses Itauma weighed in a pound heavier.

Whether Whyte can turn back the clock remains to be seen. He weighed 18st 9lb (118.38kg) during a lacklustre win over Ebenezer Tetteh last December.

  12. Whyte looking to get career back on trackpublished at 22:07 British Summer Time 16 August

    Itauma v Whyte

Dillian Whyte, who has won 31 of 34 pro fights, has fought the likes of Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury but has struggled for momentum in recent years.

A 2023 rematch with Joshua was scrapped after a failed drug test. He protested his innocence, claimed he was cleared of any wrongdoing and returned to action in Ireland March 2024.

Whyte returned with stoppage wins over Christian Hammer and Ebenezer Tetteh, though looked far from his best.

He says is "relieved" that an investigation has shown his positive drugs test was caused by a contaminated supplement.

  13. 'We get to test the things we don't know about Itauma'published at 22:06 British Summer Time 16 August

    Itauma v Whyte

    Eddie Hearn
Boxing promoter speaking to BBC Radio 5 Live

This young man is an extraordinary talent, but the reality is that he has never boxed anyone with a pulse at world level and this his first test.

He has bundles of ability - and I think he is a future world champion - but this is the kind of fight we get to test the things we don't know Moses; what is his chin like? What is he like when he gets into the trenches? That is really what I want to see.

If Dillian can get close, go six, seven rounds and make it a dogfight in there, we get to see if Moses can tick those boxes. If he can tick those boxes, a lot of people are in trouble.

  14. 'It's a great fight for Itauma'published at 22:04 British Summer Time 16 August

    Itauma v Whyte

British super-middleweight Hamzah Sheeraz on Dazn: "It's a great fight for Moses. It reminds me of my fight against Liam Williams, timing wise. Very similar. It's all there for Moses to take but it's about how much Whyte has left.

"Moses is carrying the future of the heavyweight division on his shoulders."
