Does Scotney have it?

This is the best version of Scotney that I've seen and I'm looking forward to seeing what else she can do and seeing more improvement.

Scotney celebrates as if she's won and I'd be very, very surprised if she doesn't take this one by a wide margin.

You just never truly know with boxing though, do you?

[Talking about Scotney] This is called "closing a show" and leaving no doubt. This is about making sure you go home with your belts and another one as well.

Mecardo just didn't have the right game plan and I think she is going to regret not trusting herself more in this fight.

Both fighters come out swinging in the final round but it's Scotney who land well and Mercado stumbles forwards. Mercado ducks right into a hard right hook as Scotney raises her hands at the sound of the final bell.

To the scorecards we go...

"You're well up," says Shane McGuigan to Scotney.

I think you're right, Shane.

A hard right from Scotney lands right on the chin of Mercado. The two tie up again and Scotney throws Mercado to the canvas but the pair touch gloves before getting going again. The snap in Mercado's punches has gone and Scotney is dodging them with ease.

Better from Mercado as she connects with a left hook, maybe she's been told she needs a knockout. The two get tied up but Scotney frees herself before unleashing a four-shot combo in the corner.

It's become a messy fight in these latter rounds with both tired and the styles clashing a bit.

A nasty cut above the eye of Mercado as the blood flows down her face.

You'd have to think Scotney is leading this one by quite a way on the cards so Mercado will have to come out swinging.

Scotney's hands are low as the confidence flows. Mercado is looking to tie Scotney up and land on the inside but Scotney escapes.

Both now with blood trickling down their faces from cuts.

Mecardo has to let her hands go - she can't win if she doesn't trust herself. She is getting hit anyway so she might as well exchange and try to push Scotney back with her offence and get herself in this fight.

"More feints and head movement" Scotney's corner asks for.

"You're taking her apart."

Mercado lands a stiff right hook to the body but Scotney is unfazed as she lands a left of her own on the head of Mercado. Scotney is showing no signs of tiring as her speed of foot is still as good as it was in round one.

Mecardo is trying, but Scotney is stepping back and rolling to the right. Her punches are shorter, sharper and right down the middle and she is landing just about everything she wants to.

A bit of damage above the left eye of Scotney, which is being attended to in the corner.

You can't fault Mercado's effort here but she's really struggling to figure Scotney out. The Briton feints before throwing a straight left and dips back down to the body.

Jake Paul is on his feet applauding as Scotney drops her gloves and uses head movement to evade punches.

There is a bit of blood in there now and it's coming from Mercado. The referee seemed to signal it came from a clash of heads.

A large thud through the speakers as a Scotney left lands. She nips in with a body shot and Mercado just misses with the overhand right. The Mexicano is just not landing meaningful yet.

Mecardo does need to keep her distance. Her corner is telling her to throw uppercuts which might be dangerous because Scotney can come with that short left hook up top while Mecardo is throwing the uppercut.
