Uppercut to the body and left hook to the head - that is stunning from Scotney as Mercado chases her around the ring. Mercado already looks frustrated as she eats another straight right and misses with a swing of her own.

    3-0 Scotney.

Scotney, decked out in a lovely blue colour by the way, is nipping in and quickly back out after landing. She's looking to be clever with her work while Mercado is swinging more freely.

  8. Scotney lacks experience but not talentpublished at 01:30 British Summer Time 12 July

    Scotney v Mercado

Ellie Scotney certainly comes into this fight with less experience than her opponent but that won't faze her one bit.

Scotney has a perfect record of 10 fights and 10 wins - all going the distance.

Her tremendous counter-punching skills make her extremely hard to hit but Yamileth Mercado will be looking to do just that.

    Scotney v Mercado

Weirdly enough, Ellie Scotney and Yamileth Mercado share the same birthday - 16 March 1998 - but the Mexican has had 17 more fights than the Catford star.

“I’ve been watching her for a long time,” Scotney says. “We tried to get her for my first ever world title shot.

“She’s unorthodox in many ways and will do things that not many of my other opponents have done so it will be up to me to figure that out.

“She’s been in with the likes of Amanda Serrano up at featherweight so she has good experience and she’s coming in as a champion and that’s always a different threat.

“It’s up to me to rise to that and find the answer.”

If you're a boxing fan you would have noticed Jake Paul's MVP making loads of signings earlier this year and all of them women.

Undisputed super-featherweight champion Alycia Baumgardner was the first shock signing, before Ramla Ali and fellow super-bantamweight Ellie Scotney were also announced.

The signings kept coming with Savannah Marshall and Chantelle Cameron, Holly Holm and world champions Cherneka Johnson and Dina Thorslund also added.

Are MVP trying to build a female empire? Seems so.

All four Britons mentioned make their promotional debut tonight. Cameron and Ali have made a winning start for the quartet.
