Somerset 169-7 (20 ovs) bt Surrey 131-8 (20 ovs) by 38 runs |
All-rounder Arul Suppiah claimed Twenty20-best figures of 3-22 to help Somerset to a convincing 38-run win over Surrey at The Oval.
Suppiah ripped out the home side's middle order with his left-arm spin as they slumped from 52-2 to 73-6 in pursuit of 170 to win.
Leg-spinner Max Waller also chipped in with 2-21 as Surrey mustered 131-8.
James Hildreth had earlier top-scored with 58 and Marcus Trescothick hit 35 off 17 balls in Somerset's 169-7.
It was Surrey's first home defeat of this summer's FL t20 and leaves them with plenty to do to qualify for the quarter-finals, while victory took last year's runners-up Somerset clear in second place in the South Group and looking likely to reach the last eight.
