Glamorgan 3pts, Essex 2pts

Tymal Mills claimed a career-best 4-25 as Essex took control against Glamorgan on day three of their Division Two match in Cardiff.

Resuming on 1-0, Stewart Walters reached 69, his second consecutive half-century, on a day heavily affected by bad light.

But, despite Walters' efforts Glamorgan were bowled out for 187, still 72 behind Essex's first-innings total.

The visitors then made 5-0 in the nine balls possible before an early close.

BBC Radio Wales cricket correspondent Edward Bevan:

"A day of constant interruptions because of bad light.

"The only innings of note was played by Stewart Walters, who made his second successive half century.

"He put on 54 for the third wicket with Gareth Rees, but thereafter none of the other Glamorgan batsmen could master an accurate Essex attack."
