Glamorgan eased to a 10-wicket victory against Northants despite Rob Newton scoring his first ton of the season.

The visitors resumed on 163-4, still trailing by 51 runs, with Newton hitting 12 fours on the way to 107 before being bowled by Craig Meschede.

Andrew Salter (3-64) took the crucial wicket of Adam Rossington (55) as Northants were bowled out for 269.

William Bragg and Jacques Rudolph saw them to the small victory target as they reached 57-0 in 20.5 overs.

Glamorgan are still unbeaten in 2015 and sit third in the County Championship Division Two table, while the defeat was Northamptonshire's first of the season.

Glamorgan spinner Andrew Salter:

"I think it was a great team performance, the pitch flattened out a little bit so we knew we had to dig in and bowl well this morning.

"Graham Wagg and Michael Hogan bowled excellently up top to put the pressure on the batting team and that made my job easier coming in and trying to spin some wickets later on.

"When I got it right, the pitch spun quite a bit and we were able to be aggressive because of that. I'm enjoying it in the team at the moment and if I can take those vital wickets, that's my role."
