Glamorgan missed out on a county record fifth straight Championship win as opener Hamish Rutherford's ton secured a draw for Derbyshire at Queen's Park.
The New Zealander made a patient 108 off 265 balls for the home side, who had followed on 158 runs behind.
Andrew Salter took two wickets in the morning, before Rutherford and Wayne Madsen added 132 for the third wicket.
Rutherford was eventually lbw to David Lloyd but Madsen was 79 not out when he declared on 281-3 to end the game.
Not a happy 'home away from home' |

Derbyshire have not won on their 'out ground' at Chesterfield since beating Worcestershire by an innings and 95 runs in 2008. In 10 Championship games at Queens Park since, they have drawn six and lost four times. |
However, the 13 points gained by Glamorgan keep them in the promotion picture, 20 behind second-placed Surrey, but still with a game in hand.
When Salter won lbw decisions against Ben Godleman and Chesney Hughes to leave Derbyshire on 84-2, they were still in a precarious position, 74 runs from parity.
Rutherford, however, mixed watchfulness with aggression, batting for more than five and a quarter hours, hitting three sixes and 10 fours.
Madsen and Wes Durston (32 not out) then shared an unbroken stand of 65 before a halt was called.
Derbyshire elite performance director Graeme Welch:
"We showed great fight with the bat and played some good cricket. We let ourselves down a little bit with the ball so once we get the batting and bowling right together, I think we'll be all right.
"We just asked for some application and fight and desire and that's exactly what the lads have shown so we've just got to kick on now."
Glamorgan head coach Toby Radford:
"We wanted to do something that has never been done by Glamorgan before - four in a row has been done but not five so we were going to give it everything.
"I don't think we could have done any more and sometimes you have to give credit to the opposition. It's a little bit frustrating, but we're still delighted that it's 9 July and we are unbeaten in the Championship."
