Northants sign India spinner Chahal for run-in

Northamptonshire have signed India spinner Yuzvendra Chahal on a short-term contract for the rest of the 2024 season.

The 34-year-old joins the Steelbacks in time for their final One-Day Cup match against Kent on Wednesday as well as the final five County Championship matches of the season.

He has made 72 one-day international appearances for India, taking 121 wickets, as well as claiming 96 wickets in 80 T20 matches for his country.

Chahal spent time at Kent last year, taking nine wickets in two of their final three Division One matches of the campaign.
