Former Australia international Erin Osborne has been appointed Somerset Women's new head coach on a deal until the end of 2028.
Osborne comes in following the departure of Trevor Griffin at the end of this season, who took charge of the team for their inaugural campaign in Tier 1.
The former off-spinner won 121 caps for her country during her playing career across all three formats and was part of the Australia side that won the T20 World Cup in 2010, 2012 and 2014.
"This is an incredible opportunity to work with a club that has a proud history and a passionate supporter base," Osborne said.
"I look forward to building on the strong foundations already in place and working closely with the players, coaches, and support staff as we strive for continued growth and success."
After retiring from playing, the 36-year-old began coaching the ACT Meteors women's development squad before becoming the club's male pathway manager - the first woman to hold the role.
In 2023, Osborne became head coach of the club - which she had captained during her playing career - and moved up to their female programme lead earlier this year.
"Erin was the standout candidate for the position, and her knowledge and experience, aligned with her drive to succeed, really resonated with the panel, and will stand the club in good stead moving forward," said Somerset director of cricket Andy Hurry.
"Her coaching path to date has seen Erin gain a thorough understanding of how to construct effective programmes, inspire players, and improve performance across female and male pathways. These traits will prove invaluable as we look to build on the inaugural year of professional women's cricket."
Somerset finished bottom of the Women's Blast table this season, with one win in their 14 matches, and fifth in the One-Day Cup League One table to miss out on the semi-finals of the competition.
England's Charlie Dean and Dani Gibson have both signed new deals to stay with the club in 2026.
