Despite taking three wickets, the English pacers haven't been quite on point with their lines and lengths in this ODI so far.

In the first ODI, they hit good lines and lengths 41% of the time in the first powerplay. In the second ODI, the corresponding figure was 33%; today it has been 29%.

Saqib Mahmood also changes ends to replace Matty Potts and Keacy Carty drives his second ball for four.

The West Indies continue to find joy through the covers.

It's not a warm day in south London. The Oval's press box is one of the best in the country because it has an outdoor seating area where you can really get a sense of the atmosphere. Quite a few of those seats are empty which tells you something.

Listening in Hemel Hempstead - just had a biblical downpour lasting about 15 minutes, looks to be heading south. Wonder how many more wickets England can take before it lands...

A few moments ago, the cameras picked out two stars of stage and screen sitting in the stands, and BBC Sport's chief cricket writer Stephan Shemilt chastised me for exclaiming "Oooh, Anita Dobson" rather than mentioning her husband, Queen's Brian May.

But Dobson was in the Doctor Who finale and won a British Soap Award on Saturday, and featured in my pub quiz's picture round last night.

    The holy trinity of fame.

The West Indies have said if they're going down, they are going to put up a fight. If it looks like they can give it a wallop, they're smacking it.

  9. WI 59-3published at 10 overs

More runs through the covers, with Carty picking up his first boundary off Potts and bringing up the West Indies 50 at the same time.

Brook then cuts a Carty off side shot on the rope, with the batters running three, before Rutherford clips the final ball of the powerplay through square leg for another four.

    11 off the over.

If you haven’t had any pre-game nets/practice maybe don’t try and leather your first ball out of the park?

Shai Hope's duck is his first in three years. It's also the 11th time that England have dismissed a captain for a golden duck in ODI cricket.

Sherfane Rutherford might have had the breeze on his side but he's come out positive and played some nice cricket shots.

Rutherford sends first six of the day 'sailing into the crowd'

Bit of franchise big-hitting from Sherfane Rutherford!

Brydon Carse changes ends to return to the attack and Rutherford smashes his penultimate ball through the covers for four.

He follows that up with a mighty six, helping a bumper on its way with a hook, seeing the ball fly deep into the stands.

The ball hasn't been moving around much. The West Indies just need to knock it about a bit and build up a partnership. 50 overs is a long time to bat.

Carty takes a single from Potts' first delivery, before Rutherford sees off five balls without scoring.

Rutherford was playing in the Indian Premier League as recently as Friday, making 24 as Gujarat Titans lost to Mumbai Indians in the play-offs.

Credit to Brook's captaincy here - going for 20 in the first three overs would tempt many to go more defensive, but he's stuck with his approach and got the wickets!

England got some time in the nets but the West Indies didn't get any batting practice.

  18. WI 36-3published at 7 overs

    Could have been another one!

Sherfane Rutherford tries to get a single from the off, pushing the ball towards square leg and setting off down the pitch.

Adil Rashid swoops down on the ball and Keacy Carty sends his batting partner back, with the big-hitter only just making it back into his crease as the ball comes in.

Things get better for Rutherford after that near-dismissal, he closes the over with consecutive boundaries, twice lashing Mahmood through the covers.

They've all been soft dismissals. It looks like the West Indies have been stuck in traffic for hours and still not got their game heads on.
