Shai Hope looks to smash it on the first ball but he can't get all the way. Brydon Carse couldn't believe that he'd played that shot off the first ball.

The skipper goes for a golden duck!

A Keacy Carty single brings Shai Hope on strike, and the West Indies captain immediately skies one to deep fine leg, where Brydon Carse steadies himself and takes the catch.

A poor shot from Hope and he'll be back in his seat in the dressing room before it gets cold.

Very soft dismissal. With a shot like that, what was the intended goal? Brandon King didn't pick a gap, he just hit it. In the powerplay you're looking to be aggressive. He's played a few shots but he's never really looked in control.

Brandon King was looking to be aggressive, that's a thick outside edge, he cannot believe it.

It feels like slightly soft dismissal for the West Indies but England are up.

    Chased it!

The ball takes the edge and flies to Jacob Bethell at backward point, who takes a comfortable catch.

Evin Lewis is generally powerful with the pull shot. With the pull/hook shot in ODI cricket, he has scored 359 runs at a strike-rate of 253 with 10 dismissals. Interestingly, he has struggled with that shot against England, scoring only 73 runs for six dismissals.

Matthew Potts bowls slower than Brydon Carse does. If he bowls at the same length, he's going to get punished.

Beautiful shot from Brandon King, straight down the ground.

That was a rocky delivery from Matthew Potts, he can't afford to give those away.

  9. WI 25-1published at 5.1 overs

First change for England, as Matty Potts replaces Brydon Carse.

Brandon King welcomes him to the match by clouting his first ball through mid-off for four.

Carty then gets off the mark with a run down to deep third.

Just a single from Mahmood's third over, with Brandon King sending the ball down to fine leg.

  11. WI 20-1published at 4 overs

In comes Keacy Carty, who has made three centuries in his last four innings, two against Ireland and 103 against England at Cardiff on Sunday - he now averages 50.10 from 36 ODIs.

He defends Carse's final delivery - a wicket maiden for the England seamer, who conceded 11 from his first over.

What a dive from Jamie Smith. Evin Lewis didn't time that one well at all but what a catch.

    England have their breakthrough.

I don't think that was short enough, Evin Lewis got caught off guard there.

Brydon Carse sends down four dot balls to Evin Lewis, and the opener tries to pull the fifth when it's not really there to be pulled, seeing it drop nicely for Jamie Smith at short square leg.

The attacking fields that Harry Brook sets leave a lot of gaps.

  16. WI 20-0published at 3 overs

Brandon King has his first boundary, charging Mahmood's final delivery and swinging hard, his bat arcing away from his body and making a clean connection to send the ball over the covers.

I like that. Evin Lewis didn't just leave it alone because there's two slips. If it's a bad ball, you've got to send it away. The last thing you want to be is too defensive.

  18. WI 14-0published at 2 overs

    Media caption,

Lewis hits two fours off first Carse over

Brydon Carse at the other end, King tucks his second ball past Jamie Smith at short square leg for three.

The Durham seamer then sends down a bouncer that swings away, needing Jos Buttler to dive and collect in front of first slip.

The following delivery, another short one, sits up a bit better and Evin Lewis cuts it viciously away for four and his first runs, before pulling the final ball of the over for another boundary.

I like Harry Brook's field placings because it isn't meaningless. This placement is made for Saqib Mahmood.

Harry Brook is a very interesting captain. The field placings are very idiosyncratic.
