  1. Ind 154-3published at 33 overs

    Target 252

    Agh.

Too short from Glenn Phillips and Shreyas Iyer doesn't miss out.

Thumped for four, and India's target goes below 100.

New Zealand are clawing back but India still have the advantage.

New Zealand need a few blows here to make it interesting. After the last half an hour they sniff something.

  3. Ind 145-3published at 32 overs

    Target 252

New Zealand's fielding has been incredible throughout this tournament.

Shreyas Iyer whips the ball through mid-wicket and looks destined for a boundary, but Will O'Rourke dives full-stretch to haul it back in just inside the ropes and save two.

  4. Ind 141-3published at 31 overs

    Target 252

Axar Patel is struggling to get going with seven from 17 balls so far. New Zealand have given him nothing.

For most of this game India have been in total control, but it's just started to creep back.

It's getting closer and New Zealand aren't giving up. They still want to fight and battle.

  6. Ind 136-3published at 30 overs

    Target 252

Michael Bracewell has 1-17 from his six overs so far. New Zealand are applying the pressure nicely but India bat so deep, they shouldn't be too worried yet.

  7. Ind 133-3published at 29 overs

    Target 252

    It's all going on.

Will O'Rourke makes an absolute mess of a regulation bit of fielding at point, with the ball spinning past him.

It gifts the batters an extra two despite a big mix-up that leaves them both stranded in the middle of the pitch - but Will Young seems to have hurt his foot while mopping up O'Rourke's mistake, so he can't get the throw back in time.

Five from Glenn Phillips' eventful opener.

Will Young is so unlucky there. The momentum just took him over the rope.

    Target 252

Almost some magic from Will Young to follow.

Shreyas Iyer heaves the ball out to deep mid-wicket where Young appears to have intercepted it and parried it back inside the ropes, but his foot was touching the sponge.

A six to ease some of the pressure on India.

    Of course you do.

It doesn't matter what angle you look at, Rohit Sharma's dismissal was ugly.

Back-to-back maidens, that one including the wicket.

Spin in the middle overs has haunted both sides today.

Rohit Sharma, what are you doing? You've just lost a wicket, and then you do that.

    Now then!

A rare lapse in concentration from Rohit Sharma and he departs, missing a wild hack at Rachin Ravindra and Tom Latham gratefully whips off the bails from behind the stumps.

New Zealand are clawing their way back in this.

One of the key aspects of Michael Bracewell is that he is equally economical bowling to all batters. He goes at an economy of 4.8 runs per over v left-handers and 4.9 runs per over v right-handers in his ODI career.

  16. Ind 122-2published at 26 overs

    Target 252

    Cheers, Sam.

Michael Bracewell is having a decent day out, as he twirls his way through a maiden which almost brings him a second wicket, a loose shot from Shreyas Iyer just dropping short of the bowler in his follow-through.

  17. Ind 122-2published at 25 overs

    Target 252

Ohs and ahs from the New Zealand fielders as Rohit Sharma tries to sweep a very full ball from Rachin Ravindra.

It so nearly got under the bat which would have seen him either bowled or plumb lbw but an under-edge saves him.

Just a single from the over and, with this game more in the balance than it looked like being half an hour ago, it's over to Ffion Wynne to take you to the conclusion of this Champions Trophy final.

  18. Ind 121-2published at 24 overs

    Rohit 76, Iyer 8

A delicate lap sweep from Rohit Sharma brings him two midway through the Michael Bracewell over, he's still batting with great composure.

It's another decent over for New Zealand, though. Only four from it and the required rate is fractionally above five - 5.03 to be precise - for the first time in a long while.

  19. Ind 117-2published at 23 overs

    Target 252

Very good return to the attack from Rachin Ravindra, just two from the over.

Just as India's spinners did during this phase of the New Zealand innings, the Black Caps spinners are beginning to put the squeeze on.

I'm sure Rohit Sharma will have something to say about that.

Shreyas Iyer enjoys playing against New Zealand. He strikes at 101 and averages 71 against them - his best against any opponent with a minimum of three innings played.
