It is almost impossible to set a field to these Australia batters. If you are slightly off, they will find their spot.

  3. Aus 63-1published at 8 overs

A first change for New Zealand as the experienced Sophie Devine replaces Jess Kerr.

Her first five balls go for just two singles, but Ellyse Perry guides her final delivery through backward point for four.

  4. Aus 57-1published at 7 overs

Four more for Phoebe Litchfield, guiding the ball through a small gap between gully and backward point.

The Australian opener finishes the over with 32 from 21 deliveries, despite not scoring off four of Bree Illing's six deliveries.

That is a phenomenal shot from Phoebe Litchfield. You have to stop her sweep shots but then she also has the ability to go up and over.

What a player she is - she has responded so well to her first 50-over World Cup.

The way that Ellyse Perry plays the game, she brings natural stability. She can go through the gears and reads the game exceptionally well.

She is such a good number three batter.

  8. Aus 47-1published at 6 overs

New batter Ellyse Perry starts at the non-striker's end, but having been brought on strike she immediately hits a four off Jess Kerr.

She lashes the New Zealand seamer through the covers, then adds a further two in the same area a couple of balls later.

A good effort from New Zealand. You know Alyssa Healy is going to be coming hard at you and with that does bring chances.

A nice catching height for Suzie Bates - she was never going to drop that one.

Australia were cruising, but now Alyssa Healy advances down the track to Bree Illing and lifts the ball straight to Suzie Bates at cover.

A better over from the 22-year-old, just two singles from it prior to crowning it with a final-ball wicket.

Phoebe Litchfield is not hanging around and it is entertaining to watch. She keeps it simple.

This is better from Jess Kerr. She has dragged her length back slightly.

  12. Aus 38-0published at 4 overs

New Zealand's seamers just can't stem the runs from Australia's openers.

Phoebe Litchfield takes two more boundaries from Jess Kerr's second over, hammering a shot through fine leg and lifting the ball over mid-off to pass the 1000-run landmark in ODIs.

Plenty more to come - she's just 22 years old.

    This outfield is lightning quick.

It helps when you hit it across the square and there are practice wickets near the boundary. It looks to be constantly speeding up.

All looking rather good for Australia here.

Two more boundaries in Bree Illing's second over, with Alyssa Healy timing the ball well through cover point and Phoebe Litchfield lifting the ball over the fielding ring to reach the ropes in a similar area.

This is an excellent start from Australia. It is risk-free cricket from Phoebe Litchfield.

Also good signs from Alyssa Healy with the in-swing. The temptation is to swing too early but she is waiting well.

Right-arm seamer Jess Kerr has the ball at the other end.

She too puts a delivery on the legs of Alyssa Healy, and that also gets dispatched through mid-wicket for four.

A single brings Phoebe Litchfield on strike and she opens her boundary account, driving through the covers.

Australia's Alyssa Healy is 35 and Ellyse Perry is 34. One final triumph for these doyens of the team!? I wouldn't bet against it.

Bree Illing is trying to get her line at the moment. She does not want to offer too much width to someone like Alyssa Healy.

At the moment, she is just bowling a bit straight.

  19. Aus 9-0published at 1 over

    Off we go then.

Left-arm seamer Bree Illing, playing in just her fourth ODI after playing three matches against Sri Lanka in March, takes the first over for New Zealand.

Australia openers Alyssa Healy and Phoebe Litchfield work all her deliveries for singles, with the exception of the fifth ball of the over, which Healy whips off her legs for a first four of the innings.

This is Sophie Devine's last 50-over World Cup and Suzie Bates hasn't ruled it out. They have given so much to the game across the board and have helped drive the growth and development of younger players.

They should both be really proud, but will be fully focused on the game today.

The role of the two Australian openers will be interesting. Alyssa Healy usually goes hard but with it being 50-over she might slow that slightly.

Phoebe Litchfield is also an attacking batter and they do have the license of having so much depth in this squad so can play freely.
