Standard delivery if you don't mind!

It was over pitched, but it was checked straight down the ground with authority and Kira Chathli enjoyed that.

Play good cricket shots and you get rewarded.

    Target 109

Drilled down the ground this time by Kira Chathli.

Those of you who read this piece will know she has been working on her grip strength.

Raced away to the boundary. Kira Chathli was surprised there was no fielder out there protecting it. Fantastic timing off the bat. The Spirit have got off to a flyer here.

  4. Spirit 18-0published at 90 balls left

Need 91 runs from 90 balls

I tried to tell you all that Kira Chathli is in good form. This time she is walking towards the great South African Marizanne Kapp and flicking her through square leg for four.

Textbook cover drive from Georgia Redmayne.

Redmayne shows her class and finds the gap beautifully.

  6. Spirit 12-0published at 94 balls left

Georgia Redmayne gets her first boundary now as Marizanne Kapp goes too full and too wide in search of new-ball swing. Redmaybe drives through extra cover.

    It's a good start.

This is the first time Alice Capsey has started the innings with the ball in this season's Hundred. The last time she did so was back in 2021. Oval Invincibles have used three different bowlers to start the innings this season - Marizanne Kapp, Sophia Smale, and now Capsey.

I do feel for Jo Gardner here. At the Oval the square does run all the way across, but it was a poor misfield.

Rather than Grace Harris, it's Kira Chathli and Georgia Redmayne opening for Spirit.

Chathli has scored one run in two innings since I interviewed her on the secrets to her strong performance this year with the bat. It's the effect I have on people.

This time she is helped by Jo Gardner letting one through her legs on the boundary.

    Target 109

One theory would be to send Grace Harris in early to give her, London Spirit's best hitter of boundaries, more balls to knock this target off quickly.

Spirit have refrained from pushing her up to open at least.

    London Spirit

London Spirit's Eva Gray, speaking to Sky Sports: "Really pleased to contribute to a really good team bowling performance.

"It is definitely a hot one. Pitch-wise, it looks a good pitch. A bit of bounce in there as well, which is always helpful for me.

"First and foremost, get the job done, but if we could go out there and knock it off, then that would be great."

Charlie Dean is bowling round the wicket much more this season.

Thanks Sam. Here's a reminder of the Hundred table.

London Spirit are in the eliminator spot courtesy of their superior net run-rate over Manchester Originals but that current advantage only equates to three runs or so.

If they can win this match with balls to spare they will make it tougher for Originals to overhaul them.

  14. Spirit need 109 to winpublished at 16:19 British Summer Time 25 August

It's all looking good for London Spirit as they bid for a win that would boost their top-three chances.

Winning the game will be the priority but the quicker they do it, the better their chances of securing a place in the eliminator.

So how will they approach the chase? We'll soon find out, Matthew Henry is here to take you through it.

The lowest total successfully defended at The Oval is 112 by Welsh Fire back in 2021.

  16. Invincibles 108-8published at 100 balls

Charlie Dean thinks she has another with the last ball of the innings.

A missed sweep from Phoebe Franklin and she looks to be plumb in front.

Franklin reviews and UltraEdge shows a spike as ball passes glove. Not out then but no run as the ball was dead the moment the umpire gave it out.

Brilliant bowling effort nonetheless from London Spirit. Dean and Eva Gray was the real standouts.

2-12 from Eva Gray is the most economical display by a London Spirit pacer in the history of the competition. She didn't bowl a single delivery wide outside off, 75% of her deliveries were tight to the stumps with the remaining 25% in the channel outside off.

I couldn't tell if that took a bad bounce for Cordelia Griffith or whether the one-handed attempt wasn't good enough on that occasion.

  19. Invincibles 106-8published at 98 balls

    Much-needed boundary for Oval Invincibles.

Slightly leg side from Charlie Dean and a quicker ball, too.

Phoebe Franklin is down to sweep, using the pace to send it fine.

A big smile on Charlie Dean's face!

A must-win game for London Spirit and a real full delivery from Dean.

Kalea Moore trying to sweep, but she doesn't get bat on ball.
