Just on a sloth tour in Costa Rica, feel a bit bad asking for the WiFi password so I can read the cricket updates. Thinking a sloth is the least bazball animal - are England more cheetah or purring jaguar perhaps?

Ravindra Jadeja is going to have a go from the Pavilion End. Quite a short hit to the dressing room. England don't need to risk anything - just knock it into the gaps.

The umpires come together for chat after an another over of accumulation.

England will be desperate to stay out there. The last thing they want is for these two to lose their flow.

This England side knows how to chase.

That Mohammed Siraj drop - who knows what would have happened if he had caught it.

England look at a target, and they just look at the overs they need to bat to get that target.

    Root 71, Brook 92

Only the speed of Ravindra Jadeja across the grass denies Joe Root another highlight for the reel as he drives through mid-on. Jadeja ensures it's two runs rather than four.

The crowd are getting stuck into Mohammed Siraj on the boundary after his error earlier. Remember Trent Boult in 2019, anyone?

India are chasing a mistake really. There's no lateral or seam movement.

They are going with this short ball theory but India have to go back to what's worked for them throughout the Test match.

We can't be far off India being told to only bowl spinners here. It's pretty dark.

Three singles comes in Jadeja's latest over.

There is no venom here in these short balls.

  13. Eng 262-3published at 57 overs

    Root 64, Brook 91

Play continues through the drizzle with India still going with this short-ball ploy. Harry Brook is putting bat to everything rather than leaving but is making an effort to keep every one down.

    The top-edge is the danger.

Harry Brook was eyeing up that leg side.

Ravindra Jadeja set up to take the ball away, it is not turning and anything Brook can get his hands through in that region he is going to take that opportunity.

Harry Brook hasn't middled this by any means but it's still four. He's got a pull shot to Ravindra Jadeja up and over mid-wicket.

That's the 150 partnership and another cheer from the Oval crowd.
