    Kent 394 & 70-5 v Essex 591-7 dec

Matt Critchley doesn't hang about when bowling.

His latest over is finished in a flash - two singles and no major alarms for Kent in it.

  2. 'Yorkshire still think they've got a chance'published at 14:04 27 May

    Northants 21-1 - Target 326

    Andrew Radd
    BBC Radio Northampton

If we get a full afternoon of cricket, I think Northamptonshire are going to find it hard to chase these down.

Yorkshire still think they've got a chance.

  3. WICKET Carlson b Mike 11published at 13:59 27 May

    Leics 343-9 dec v Glamorgan 387 & 91-4 - lead by135

Hang on - could we be in for some final day drama in Leicester?

Ben Mike gets one to nip back to Kiran Carlson and knocks the leg stimp out of the ground.

Mike now has 2-9 and if he can get a few more quickly we may have a game on.

    Chris Cooke joins Sam Northeast.

  4. More rain at Worcesterpublished at 13:58 27 May

    Worcs 80 v Notts 234-4

More brief spells of rain at New Road, which unfortunately means the latest inspection has been put back.

    It's scheduled for 2.30pm.

  5. WICKET Reece b MDL 7published at 13:57 27 May

    Glos 530 v Derbs 526 & 25-1

MDL has the breakthrough, he hits a hard length and Luis Reece plays on for 7 off 17.

Lloyd meanwhile has 16* off 11 balls still.

How early will Glos go to spin?

  6. Postpublished at 13:54 27 May

    Kent 394 & 64-5 v Essex 591-7 dec

    Nearly.

Simon Harmer beats the outside edge of Joe Denly's bat.

He starts the afternoon with a maiden.

  7. Glamorgan resume after lunchpublished at 13:52 27 May

    Leics 343-9 dec v Glamorgan 387 & 91-3 - lead by135

Kiran Carlson opens up after lunch by running three off Ian Holland's first ball.

Sam Northeast helps himself to a couple and then a single.

The slightest acceleration to the innings.

The Glamorgan captain moves to 12 with another single off Ben Mike's first over after the break and the lead moves to 135.

  8. Game resumes at Canterburypublished at 13:52 27 May

    Kent 394 & 64-5 v Essex 591-7 dec

The shower is over, the covers have been removed and the umpires are back out in the middle at the Spitfire Ground.

That will have taken a couple of overs off the day's allocation but barring further weather interruptions, Kent are going to have to save themselves in this match.

Joe Denly is 11 not out and Joey Evison has four.

  9. 'Perfect start to the session for the visitors'published at 13:50 27 May

    Northants 14-1 - Target 326

    Andrew Radd
    BBC Radio Northampton

It's going to be a stiff ask for Northamptonshire to win this match.

Whether Yorkshire have enough time to bowl Northamptonshire out remains to be seen.

Yorkshire won't want to lose any time to the weather.

A perfect start to the session for the visitors, a breakthrough that they craved has been achieved.

  10. Postpublished at 13:49 27 May

    Middx 508-8 v Sussex 554-9 dec

A milestone of sorts at Lord's as we reach the 150th over of the Middlesex first innings.

Jayden Seales is handed the ball and sends down a maiden to Henry Brookes.

    Middlesex remain 46 behind.

  11. Derbyshire intentpublished at 13:48 27 May

    Glos 530 v Derbs 526 & 20-0

Just the six off the second over from Ajeet Dale, still a run rate of 10s as Derbyshire put their feet down early.

Is the plan to whack it until tea then try declare and bowl Glos out for a remarkable win in the last session of the match?!

Risky strategy, I don't think it is explicitly that yet.

  12. WICKET Gay c Hill b Fernando 2published at 13:44 27 May

    Northants 13-1 - Target 326

    What a start!

Yorkshire have a wicket first ball after lunch.

Vishwa Fernando pitches it up, the ball holds its line and Emilio Gay edges to George Hill in the slips.

    Luke Procter is in.

  13. Frenzied start at Bristol calms a littlepublished at 13:42 27 May

    Glos 530 v Derbs 526 & 14-0

Wow that carnage has calmed down a little, but MDL still goes for 14 off the first.

Lloyd is 11 off five balls opening in red ball cricket.

  14. Rain delay at Canterburypublished at 13:41 27 May

    Kent 394 & 64-5 v Essex 591-7 dec

Hope for Kent as rain arrives at the Spitfire Ground during the lunch interval. The re-start is going to be delayed.

The home side have to score another 133 to clear the deficit.

  15. Derbyshire going at 60 runs per over currently!published at 13:40 27 May

    Glos 530 v Derbs 526 & 10-0 after one legal ball

Somehow it is still sunny in Bristol where Marchant De Lange (MDL for all future references if you do not mind) will take the new ball against David Lloyd and Luis Reece where sadly the commentators are already writing this match off as a draw, a spectacular collapse could change that though.

Corrh some start, six off the first, well not even the first ball! No ball pulled for four, then he keeps his foot behind the line but gets driven for four!

    MDL's economy rate is 60!

10 runs off one legitimate ball!

  16. ANOTHER ONE!published at 13:31 27 May

    Lancs 149 v Warwicks 284 & 67-3

Yes another delay at Old Trafford, stopping this 1.30 proposed start, though just the one hover cover over the strip currently, so may not take long if the drizzle stops...

Oh, sorry now the square cover sheets are being dragged out.

  17. 'Spin key' for Essexpublished at 13:23 27 May

    Kent 394 & 64-5 v Essex 591-7 dec

    Victoria Polley
    BBC Essex Sport

Essex couldn’t have asked for a better first session of the final day’s play with Kent 64-5 at lunch.

Having had figures of 0-111 yesterday, Simon Harmer has taken three wickets and I think the spin of him and Matt Critchley will be key for Essex in this afternoon session.

  18. Top two stifled by 'lifeless pitch'published at 13:21 27 May

    Middlesex 508-8 v Sussex 554-9 dec - lunch

Jack Davies reverse sweeps at Lord'sImage source, Rex Features

It speaks volumes that Ollie Robinson has only bowled one of the 33 overs this morning, and his new ball partner hasn’t bowled at all, as the players take lunch.

Jack Carson has bowled 15 overs unchanged from the Pavilion End and has taken four of the wickets to fall, and Nathan Fernandes went nine short of his century very well caught by James Coles at deep square leg having been dropped off the previous delivery.

However, it’s all academic, the lifeless pitch at Lords has ensured that this top of the table clash will not live long in the memory

  19. 'Draw favourite barring Glamorgan collapse'published at 13:19 27 May

    Leics 343-9 dec v Glamorgan 387 & 84-3

The combination of slow-scoring conditions and time lost to rain means that a draw is still favourite at Grace Road, barring a complete Glamorgan collapse.

With the ball tending to stay low, batters from both sides have found it difficult to go on the offensive since Glamorgan’s fairly positive effort on the first day.

Scott Currie won an lbw shout against Eddie Byrom on 30, while Marnus Labuschagne (31) was bowled by a useful second delivery of his spell from Ben Mike.

An increase in the sedate pace of play looks unlikely with Glamorgan leading by 128 and needing to secure the draw before thinking about a declaration.
