'Absolutely outrageous!' - Brook hits six on first ball

  1. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 92 balls

    Green c Lawrence b Amir 3 (Fire 133-9)

Chris Green is the next to go.

It sounded like he'd made decent contact with that one off Mohammad Amir but it was hit into the wind and they're big boundaries at Headingley.

That means rather than six, it's a straightforward catch for Dan Lawrence at cow corner.

That is a free hit, I don't mind that. If he got any bat on that it would have been worth it.

He just swung himself off his feet, Payne.

  3. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 90 balls

    Payne b Wasim 0 (Fire 133-8)

    Bowled 'im!

It's always left-arm darts from Imad Wasim but this one is really fired in by the Welsh-born Pakistan international.

David Payne tries to hammer it leg side but gets nowhere near it and the ball makes a mess of the stumps.

A great catch from Harry Brook. The best of the tournament so far. He covered quite a lot of ground and takes the catch over his shoulder.

He took a blinder last year at Headingley too.

  5. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 88 balls

    Zaib c Brook b Wasim 13 (Fire 132-7)

    Superb catch from Harry Brook.

Saif Zaib tries to muscle Imad Wasim through the off side but the ball hangs in the air and Brook is able to run from a straight mid-wicket position before diving to take the catch.

    Fantastic grab.

  6. Fire 127-6published at 85 balls

Adil Rashid is done for the night - with the ball at least - and finishes with figures of 2-25 from his 20 balls.

Typically canny stuff from the England leg-spinner.

Paul Walter is a big hitter but with two balls left from Rashid, you'd thought he would just see it out.

Crawley was running in and out, all about.

  8. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 84 balls

    Walter c Crawley b Rashid 15 (Fire 125-6)

Swirling catch taken by Zak Crawley as the ball comes down from a great height!

It is dragged down by Adil Rashid and Paul Walter tries to wallop it off the back foot, back over the bowler's head.

The ball goes a long way up and is buffeted around by the wind on its way down but Crawley just about manages to get underneath it and hold on.

  9. How's stat?!published at 19:42 British Summer Time

    Kieran Parmley
    Cricviz analyst

Matthew Potts is the most experienced death bowler at Headingley in the Hundred, having bowled 13 sets in the last 25 balls of the innings coming into this game.

His economy of 9.15 per set at the death at Headingley is just below the average set economy of 9.26 in the final 25 balls here.

  10. Fire 122-5published at 80 balls

Flipped leg side for a single by Paul Walter to end Dan Lawrence's 10-ball set.

The second five may have been a mistake with 13 coming from them.

Welsh Fire have got to try and get two a ball here.

That will help from Paul Walter. It was massive. There is no point even trying to find that ball, it is gone.

  12. 6 runs

    Fire 121-5published at 79 balls

    That's enormous!

Paul Walter is down on one knee and demolishes a ball from Dan Lawrence, high over deep mid-wicket and that is out of here.

    New balls, please.

I'm not sure that has come off anything at all. We were waiting for a spike that didn't exist.

  14. Not outpublished at 77 balls

    Fire 114-5

    Nope, nothing doing.

    Misses everything according to UltraEdge.

Very odd. The Superchargers were convinced and it definitely seemed to brush something.

  15. Superchargers reviewpublished at 77 balls

    Fire 114-5

Hit for four the ball before, Dan Lawrence thinks he's got Saif Zaib caught behind.

Given not out but Harry Brook sends it upstairs.

A good five balls from Dan Lawrence. But batters do get used to you when you bowl another five in a row.

Saif Zaib is a good batter to have in at this stage.

The throw was a little bit delayed. A good dive though.

  18. Fire 110-5published at 75 balls

Paul Walter's nickname is 'Tall Paul' and he needs every inch of his height as he has to put in a dive to make his ground after sprinting back for two.

Dan Lawrence is the bowler, his part-time off-spin delivered with an, um, unique action.

The outcome is decent enough, though. No boundaries and seven from it in total. That earns him another five balls.

Five wickets is a bit of a blow for Welsh Fire but can they try and get another 50 runs on the board?

That will be what they are looking for.

  20. Fire 103-5published at 70 balls

Very good stuff from Tom Lawes, just two runs and a wicket from those five balls.

And the wicket arguably came with the worst of those deliveries.

After the two quick wickets it's Saif Zaib and Paul Walter in the middle for Welsh Fire.
