    Things have been ever so slightly easier since the spinners came on. In the weird and wonderful way of cricket, these two have held the Ireland innings together.

    Ravindra Jadeja is introduced into the attack and Little ensures Ireland pass their lowest T20 total by reverse sweeping the left-armer's second ball for four.

    It's just all-out aggression from Ireland at the moment, every ball is being greeted by a slog.

    It's entertaining for now but I don't see how they're going to bat out the overs this way. Ireland have been architects of their own destruction in many ways, with some of the shots.

    There's been no assessment of the conditions since Harry Tector's wicket. It makes you wonder whether they were watching his innings.

    He almost picks up another the next ball, but this time Rohit chases the ball down from mid-off to restrict Ireland to two.

    The Irish tail continues to play really aggressively - they're here for a good-ish time, if not for, most probably, a long time.

    No sign of the Ireland batter trying to eek out his side's overs - although it would help if he connected with a few.

    Barry McCarthy survives the hat-trick ball, just about blocking out the ball.

    There's a bit of excitement at the other end as Ravindra Jadeja collects the ball and fires at the stumps in an attempt to run Gareth Delany out.

    Hardik's on a hat-trick!

    He picked up a wicket with the last ball of the previous over and with the first ball of the new one he picks up Mark Adair.

    The batter steps back but then finds himself stretching at an uppish cut - little wonder he doesn't get hold of it, and the ball flies to Shivam Dube running in from point.

    It's been a remarkable first session. 46-6 doesn't tell the full story.

    We knew it would be an important toss to win because both captains were itching to bowl first. It has been very, very difficult to bat on.

    At times, Ireland have been over-aggressive. I'm not sure they paid enough attention to Sri Lanka's match at this ground the other day when swinging for the ropes just isn't the way to go because you don't need 150 on this pitch.

    But, India have bowled brilliantly and executed the conditions perfectly.

    Ireland are in full collapse mode - the pitch is difficult to bat on but there's also been some poor shots.

    Mark Adair is the next man to the middle and he's a powerful hitter, with 32 maximums to his name in T20s.
